Where is MoonWalk City?

Home base will be Randall’s Island. We’ll gather here at around 8:30pm, with a fantastic celebration, including bands, comedians, entertainers, dancing, and a healthy light dinner. Soon after, we’ll take it to the streets, crossing over the footbridge and down along the East River. Then, we’ll loop around and head north up the West side before returning to Randall’s Island. We’ll be using a combination of well-lit pedestrian paths and sidewalks, with some street closings. The full loop is 26.2 miles and there will be a 13.1 mile option, but you’ll have to choose your route in advance.

Getting to/from Randall’s Island:

There are several ways to reach Randall’s Island, including the M35 bus that you can catch on 125th Street. Also, the stop near the Lexington Avenue Subway (#4, #5 and #6) is on Lexington Avenue, on the corner of 125th Street. Prior to the event, registered walkers will have the opportunity to sign up on a first come/first served basis for free parking spots on Randall’s Island, as well as seats on our own shuttle buses that will leave from convenient locations in Manhattan.
